I am me, known as Dr. Amanda Eakins in formal settings and as Dr. A in healing circles, a veteran of the United States Army and many times soldier of the year for my unit and company. I am new to the area and is practicing specialized Emotional Therapy in Manhattan, New York.
As a therapist I encourage my clients to practice journaling as an outlet to releasing their emotions. Journaling is a great way to fuse many interdisciplinary topics in our problem solving. You can see many of my journaling resources in my reportoire of healing materials. I am an author of healing books, just overall a lover of journaling for the purpose of healing. It was in 9th grade English class in 1997 that I found my love for writing on healing topics. I have since earned my Associates of Healthcare, Bachelors of Science in Management, Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning with a Counseling Cognate from Liberty University, and my Doctorate of Education, and Masters of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from St. Thomas University. I am the author of 5 interactive books that are sold on Barnes and Noble. This art of writing can also be found in my children Laila Makenzie and Sheldon Lewis (SJ) together they coauthored their own book Kwamee and Matoo Mystical Adventures to St.Croix.
I am a citizen of the world with a love for how people and culture are reflected in storytelling positively for our healing. I am originally from St. Lucia British West Indies. My deceased mother Marie Solomon,
is of mixed heritage. Her mother Sarah Sumra is of East Indian heritage from Culcutta India. My mothers deceased father Pa Rameo is native to St. Lucia. Both of my fathers are of African heritage by way of
St. Lucia, BWI. I grew up in St. Croix US Virgin Islands and have since lived in many other US states to include Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and New York. I came to New
York in 2001 and fell in love with the city. New York is home. So I’ve shared a little about me, browse around and see if you can find any commanalities between us. And after that you’ve agreed, we are friends.
Welcome to my side of the web.
Let’s Unpack Specialized Therapy: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I describe the healing work of
Sacred Love...
- I could write a 10- page paper on just this question but for
the sake of space I’ll say, unending. Our healing circles
doesn’t end when clients leave group. In fact, group is to
support the work clients will do when alone and or with
friends and family that may or may not be focused on their
healing. The resources within my practice allows clients to
continue working on themselves, increasing their
frequencies to raise their vibrations. We have an
assortment of classes to choose from and every class
requires commitment to self because we cant rush through
healing. So time is important at Sacred Love.
- Associates in Healthcare Administration, Bachelors of
Science in Business Administration, Masters of Education in
teaching and learning with a counseling cognate from
Liberty University, and a Doctorate of Education in
Leadership and Innovation with a research focus on
socialization, and a Masters of Science in Instructional
Design and Technology from St. Thomas University.
Though my Masters was earned from Liberty University’s
CACREP accredited licensure M.Ed, in Teaching &
Learning, Counseling, program I don’t hold any
certifications in the counseling and therapy fields. Buts lets
get into why.
What are my certifications and degrees...
What forms of therapy are used in the healing circles...
- I am spiritual and like to think of spirituality as the
awareness of the spirit within the body. But more broadly
how that spirit moves within us to influence our reality and
those of others, thus connecting us to the universe. I am a
Christian and I do hail from a religious family. My journey
involves the studies of many religions not just spirituality. I
happen to believe that we can find truth in every religion.
So yes, I get into spirituality. My Nature Nurtures Me class
is an introductory class to spirituality and feeling energy
with CAF. That’s crystals, animals and flowers. There I ask
tat yu allow your religion to be your guide.
Do I get into spirituality with my healing work...
What is the journey of love ...
How did I get into healing circles...
What are some of the books I recommend for the
healing and religious journey...
- Of course all of the interactive books within Sacred Loves
reportoire. But generally I don’t recommend specific
spirituality focused books to clients. Here’s why, those
books should speak to the individual based on where they
are on their journey. So if you’re ever in my healing
circles located at 11900 Biscayne Blvd and you happen to
see the books I’m reading around, if they speak to you,
grab your copy and enjoy the read. I approach healing
books differently and do have a few that actually
supported my healing that I often share with others. The
Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Browne is a favorite of
mines. Then there’s, It Didint Start with You by Mark
Wolynn and No Excuses by Brian Tracy.
- Ever been charged with a felony? If yes, then you
understand the need for healing. If no, just imagine the
thought of potentially loosing your freedom because of a
weak moment of low emotional intelligence, thats a
snippet of my story, I share the details in my program. I
was asked to go through the justice system aloof and stoic
during those proceedings and somehow with all of my
studies, I missed the memo on what it took to refrain from
violating a no contact order with words. So the court
dropped the felony charge but gave me probation and
ordered me to MRT DV- group therapy. Group Therapy
changed my life. I wrote many of my interactive books
during that time but the “My Shadow and Me” book was
actually piloted in my domestic violence group meetings.
- The theories that guides our healing circles are Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with the Heal with Me class.
Psychodrama Therapy with the My Shadow and Me class
Process Oriented Therapy in A Brand New Me and Sensual
Me classes and Ecotherapy in the Nature Nurtures Me
Class.
- 2018, that’s the year my father was diagnosed with stage
IV lung cancer. 2019, he passed away after a year of me
caring for him while he was in hospice in my home. The
day following his memorial, my mother was diagnosed
with a rare cancer and was given 4 weeks to live. They
both lived for about one year after their diagnosis. But
their journey to their physical death introduced me to the
sacredness of love. Often people think love is the pretty
pictures we share on social media that presents not truth
but an image of what we think love is. But love in any
form captures the pure essence of the soul of those we
claim to love. And when we do, we truly learn to respect
those individuals. That journey starts with us.
How do I maintain my own professional development...
What are my thoughts on traditional therapy...
Having spent 8 years in tertiary education, I know that we
are surrounded by a wealth of information to supporting
learning. However, I enjoy a more simplified professional
development regime. I am an Associate member of the
American Psychological Association, and a professional
member of the American Counseling Association.
Membership in those organizations just means lots of
academic journals to read with cutting edge research
within the discipline and opportunities to engage with
professionals in the discipline. I also read lots of books
across disciplines. Spiritually, well I live in worship of my
beliefs.
What guides the writing for my interactive books...
Why did I opt out of the Counseling License...
- I was introduced to the field of counseling while employed
at University of Oregon, College of Education as an
administrative staff to the Deans of the COE. I then gained
exposure to the rigors of the licensure programs to include
the counseling and psychology and School Psyc programs.
So I understand the prestige of having those credentials
very well. The challenge I found wasn’t with the discipline
but with the stipulations of the accrediting bodies and how
they would impact the concepts and ideas that I created
and continue to develop. You cant just walk into those
disciplines and say, I know this works. Acceptance of new
theories and ideas takes years to be accepted within a
discipline considering the research process and the peer
review publication process. Then there’s the issue of race
that I dont want to throw out here because I’m not a “race
man” but I would be spurious if I didnt make note that
race can hamper progress in higher ed, the world of
academic rigor and prestige. Though I apply theories from
the discipline within my program, I appreciate the freedom
of being able create a company with programs that
appreciates both theoretical and practical frameworks that
allows me to find acceptance as an alternative form of
therapy. My doctorate is in Innovation so I dare to
peregrinate a bit in counseling fusing many topics. I
respect therapy and I too have sat in the therapist chair for
my 1-1s and I’ve done my share of group therapy.
- Experience, it ignites inspiration. Trauma destroys lives,
and I’ve had my share. I’ve had enough of it to know that
if I can be of service in supporting others in their healing
through my program then that’s what I will do. My
personal story truly inspires my work. There’s the trauma
I’ve healed through finding lessons worth sharing with
others. So, I suppose the light in me guides my work.
While alternative forms of therapy are on the rise
Traditional therapy will always have its place in mental
health wellness. World Catastrophic events like COVID
revealed the demand for care within the United States.
People want healing. In the micro we have learned to care
about mental health but that demand is not well met by the
industry. There is a need for mental healthcare providers
within our communities. What we know is that therapy
works.
Does Sacred Love provide healing resources beyond group
therapy and journaling...
- Absolutely. If you haven't worked though the Mystical
Wonders of the Mind Meditation Series, you are missing
out. Those meditations are self revealing and inspiring.
Then there's poetry that's provocative, if you enjoy the arts
and spirituality, then you're sure to enjoy those. The Index
is the podcast that allows our community to hear the
stories of their sacred love peers in a healed manner. 1-1s
with me are accessible through our referral program. There
are burst notes as video recordings that gets into spiritually
based concepts if your interested in unpacking
perspectives, you'll find value in those recordings. There's
the more casual resources like morning messages on Tiktok
where I invite you into my room and brief motivational
notes on Instagram. And I am always working on the next
project to ensure that our healing programs are
revolutionary and engaging.
What if I don’t like to write...
- Then don’t. I say that jokingly here but also seriously. The
Sacred Love Interactive Journals are geared towards
processing not writing as a profession. Clients don’t need
to be good writers or even someone that wants to write to
gain the benefits of our healing circles. If you are
comfortable giving me one word per prompt in your
interactive books, then we can discuss the details openly in
group sessions.
What is the Sacred Love Community?
What is a Client?
Who is a soul tribe member?
What is the difference between (Foreign) Biscayne
Therapy and Sacred Love, LLC?
- We go to therapy in search of healing from trauma we’ve
experienced. What the therapist does for clients is provide
support as they seek healing and while that is a great
concept because they provide a listening ear with
supportive feedback, life is about perspectives. The Sacred
Love Community is exactly about applying the perspectives
of many so that we can view situations and challenges
from many lens thus improving our intelligence
emotionally as we heal. Within the Sacred Love community
I provide the prompts that moves our clients to reflecting
on their own experiences in order to improve themselves
to walk in their purpose.
- First, we have to know what a soulmate is to us. What I
believe is that we have the concept of the soulmate in the
macro. On this scale we have the five types of love
inclusive of EROS, Storge, Philautia, Philos, and AGAPE. If
love is present it is of the soul, so if we were to have a
physical connection that incorporates kindness within any
of these types of love, these individuals are what we call a
soul tribe. In the Sacred Love Community our focus is
AGAPE allowing our community to expand our
connections with love and kindness so that we can heal
together.

Making a difference....
A brief clip about my excitement for working in my
community and why you should choose me as your
therapist.
Here’s what you should know about me to guide your decision in allowing me to journey with you towards your healing...
Creativity is the talent that allows people within their communities to enjoy abstract expressions. Innovation is the art that allows people to create systems that their communities can use to solve problems. I am an innovator with an innovative system in therapy to support your healing. I got the degrees, no not in therapy but to educate in teaching and learning, that’s why I call myself a facilitator though I am a therapist. So I have many earned degrees to include the Associates in Healthcare Administration, The Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, The Masters of Education in teaching and learning with a counseling cognate, The Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Management with an Innovation cognate and a research focus on socialization. And as if that wasn’t enough, I went back to school to earn a Masters of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from St. Thomas University. What my degrees tell you is that I like to teach in a quirky way that invites ubiquitous learning into any topic. Here I am teaching healing. I started that process with transformational leadership as my foundation. I relish for change, so a disruptor of sorts using the four pillars, influence, motivation, stimulation, and consideration to develop my program. These pillars work as a whole not independently to take us to the path to Ave. We go within to find influence and motivation. Stimulation we can’t control but we work on controlling ourselves against external factors. And Consideration, I ask you to ponder how your behavior impacts your life. Just as I am asking you to think about the positive impact group therapy can have on your healing.
Group therapy can sound intimidating, because the idea that individuals would want to sit together in a circle and become emotionally naked is actually alarming. To be vulnerable with strangers, how absurd. If those thoughts resonates with you, then no worries, you are amongst many that are apprehensive towards group therapy. But what if I told you that group therapy with me is actually a safe space to be wrong and even right. Its a space that starts with strangers who connects deeply not through trauma bonding but through their shared desires of seeking peace and healing in a very catastrophic world.
What I believe about therapy...
If I could give a gift to everyone in the world, it would be the gift of therapy. So whether its my alternative style to therapy where you get to select your own healing topics with me through a cocktail of classes or its the traditional form of therapy, just talk to someone who supports emotional healing in a safe space in their practice. In my practice, our sessions are meant to support those that’s looking for something a little different. And different is exactly what we deliver. I like to tell clients that we get wild about our healing. We make mistakes, we say the wrong things, rarely do we say the right things , but everything we lend to our authentic voices. We support the individuals that’s ready to be real about their journey as they share their stories with us. But no worries, even in a group setting, everyone can move at their own pace. What’s beautiful about group therapy is the camaraderie clients gain on the AVE. Ave is the accronym for Accountability, validation, and encouragement. You know the emotional support that show up as accountability, validation and encouragement from our small group sessions within our healing circle program. So be ready to hear that you wasn’t always in your power, but we will tell you that you were justified when you are, and then we will hold hands as you journey forward implementing the tools that you gained from the lessons you learned from your story and the stories of others. It is your time to win. I am certain that our company have the newest tools in our toolbox at WES, INC., to support you with your wins. To that end- a set of interactive books, meditations and other resources are used as guides in our sessions in increasing our emotional well being starting with our in person sessions.

Why Journaling
In my brochures you may have learned that I was arrested and spent one
night in jail in October 2020. I already had my doctorate and was being
arrested for a criminal offense. I speak about that experience candidly in one
of my talks titled Pumps and Prison Bars. I then shared my jouurnal entry of
my messgae to the courts on the day I was relased from probation. Let’s
discuss recidivism briefly. About 45% of prisoners return to the prison system
within the first year of their runnings with the justice system. About 80% of
prisoners return after 5 years. Everyone knows that is crazy! How does citizens
escape this mental prison created by society? I’m certain the trick is the past,
so I am asking you to figure out your personal algorithm. The clues for your
future are in the past. This is why I don't encourage anyone to simply follow
the steps someone else took to heal. The blueprint for each of us actually
looks different. Our experiences dictate how we move forward. Each of us
have the answers we are seeking for our life. In our healing Circles we use our
journals to recieve the answers we need from within. The prompts in the
Sacred Love journals support you with going within to figure out what actually
works best for your path instead of following what you've been told to do by
others. But, I don't give out the answers to how people should or shouldn’t
live. Every man must seek to find his own path.
- I believe in the power of writing for the purpose of healing. So journaling is my go to method for healing, which is why we do structured journaling in my healing circles. To that end,
I’ve written more than 36 journals during my time practicing asceticisim. So far I’ve published 5 journals and 1 book of poetry. But why so many? I wanted to create a volume of work
that can move and change form with my clients over their many lifespans. One journal wouldn't do the trick. This volume of work is a lifelong friend. It's meant to hold hands with you in
your darkest hours but also in those moments of bliss. We have those hours of darkness periodically during our life as we go through cycles of endings But new beginings brings us
bliss. The tools we gained over time becomes our saving grace. How beautiful to reflect on our growth overtime in a volume of work created to track our progress that even generations
after us can enjoy as a lovely keepsake of our journey. And these journals grants grace to those who holds them in their possession. You write in them only when you are led to but I
encourage my clients to keep their journals within sight so that they can be inspired to writing in them more often than never... My healing journals allows clients to track their
awareness spiritually not just their physical footsteps.

Teen Age Pregnancy (TAP) impacts millions of teens each year. I too was a teen mom; so, I understand those challenges very well. I
was 15 when I became pregnant with my first son, and at 16, I became a mother. Teen pregnancies are difficult for all the parties
involved, the young mother and the father are faced with many challenges that not only impact their lives but also the life of their
unborn.
To that end, the purpose of this group is to show up and provide support for teenage parents in the way that I wished others would
have shown up for me. It's a little too late to lecture you about your choices so we won't do that here, but as my late father told me
when I was pregnant at 15, "this isn't your end".
Join me biweekly for the TAP Support Group. An opportunity for you to connect with your peers battling the same issues. Let's
connect and talk about those challenges. At the end of these sessions, you are sure to be left empowered and ready to move
forward in a positive way. Statistically, the odds are against you but we were created to shatter glass ceilings- let's hold hands as
you take on this feat.
Pick your head up and let's get you back on track.
